My First Term (Mayor Pro Tem)
First, I would like to thank the citizens of Pooler for their confidence and ongoing support. ‘Paving the way to the future’ has been my motto while serving the citizens of Pooler. Working with fellow council members and attending classes at the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) has proven to be an effective way of augmenting the skills that I needed to become a knowledgeable councilman. During COVID we all experienced masks, business and school closings, vaccines, shortages of materials, etc. We lost relatives and friends, but with broken hearts we moved forward.
Listed below are the objectives that I and the Council did manage to accomplish:
- Organized a drive to assist Senior Living facilities in Pooler that were experiencing mask shortages;
- Contributed to the development of the Pooler 2040 Comprehensive Plan;
- While representing Pooler on the Board of the Municipal Planning Commission I was instrumental in getting a $285K grant needed to complete the SR 26/US 80 Corridor study;
- Completed the Pine Barren Traffic Study;
- Completed Blue Moon Xing Upgrade;
- Approved the Alcohol Ordinance rewrite;
- Pine Barren Traffic Study;

- Attended GMA Annual Conferences;
- Received the GMA Certificate Of Recognition;
- Received the GMA Certificate of Achievement;

- Encouraged partnership relationship with developers;
- Approved the Pipemakers Canal Widening project;
- Approved expansion of the recreation program to include a Tennis & Pickleball facility (funded by SPLOST). Completion expected late 3rd quarter of 2023;
- Founded the Pooler Juneteenth Celebration Committee and chaired Pooler’s first ever Juneteenth celebrations two years in a row (Juneteenth Run & Festival).
